Nara

Nara held celebrations to mark the 1300 year's anniversary of establishment of Heijo-kyo capital last year. We visit Non's parents in Nara every New Year. It's customary for us to stay in a Japanese inn (ryokan) which has a natural hot spring with open-air bath. It also has a great view of a five-storied pagoda. I really felt like it was the New Year when I took a bath at the open air hot spring, and looked back on the last two years in the UK.
